Key Concepts
Before you start receiving fruit, it is important to understand a few basic terms used in the system:
Conforming fruit: Fruit that passes the initial quality check and meets Avolands' standards. This fruit moves directly into standard facility storage or sorting.
Non-conforming fruit: Fruit that does not meet the exact standards but is still kept by the facility. This fruit is marked separately so it can be sent for a special sorting process to recover usable avocados.
Rejected fruit: Fruit that fails the quality inspection entirely and is not accepted into the facility's usable stock.
Quality Inspections (QC): The mandatory physical testing of the fruit from a pallet. This includes measuring pulp temperature, checking firmness with a penetrometer, and looking for internal or external damage (like fungal or wind damage).
Uplifted pallets: A status used when a rejected or non-conforming pallet is physically collected and removed from the facility. "Uplifting" officially removes the pallet from the system's active inventory.

Goal:
To register a new truck delivery in the system.
Steps:
Open the Receiving Module and tap New Receiving Event.
Fill in the Transport Details (Inspector's name, Transporter name, and truck fridge temperature).
Enter the Delivery Note Number and use your tablet to take a clear, well-lit picture of the physical delivery note.
Review the delivery summary and click Next..
What Happens Next?:
The system creates an open event, and you are ready to start physically unloading and registering the pallets.

Goal:
To log the specific details of each pallet coming off the truck.
Steps:
In your open receiving event, click Add Pallet.
Select the Supplier and enter the Supplier Pallet Number.
Under Goods Received, enter the Cultivar, Class, Count/Size, and Package type (e.g., Bags, Cartons, or Crates).
Enter the Quantity and manually enter the exact Weight (kg). Note: The system will automatically calculate the carton equivalent based on the weight you manually enter.
Rate the Pallet Integrity (Good/Bad) and take a picture of the pallet while it is still in the truck.
What Happens Next?:
The pallet is registered in the system, and you must now perform a Quality Inspection on it.

Goal:
To test the fruit on the newly registered pallet and record its quality.
Steps:
Select the pallet you just added and begin the Quality Inspection.
Enter your sample size (the number of fruit you are testing).
Firmness Check: Enter the penetrometer readings..
Fruit Inspection: Note any external or internal damages (e.g., Fungal, Vascular Browning) and enter the amount of fruit showing this issue.
Upload clear photos of the firmness reading, pulp temperature reading, and any damages found.
What Happens Next?:
Based on your findings, you will mark the pallet as either Conforming or Non-Conforming.

Goal:
To assign the final status to the inspected pallet.
Steps:
At the end of the QC process, select either Conforming or Non-conforming.
Add any relevant comments and click Submit.
If marked Non-conforming, the pallet will be highlighted with a red indicator in your list.
4. For Non-conforming pallets, you must choose an action: either Reject the pallet outright (if it's too poor to use) or Sort the pallet (to save the good fruit).
What Happens Next?:
Conforming pallets move into standard storage. Non-conforming pallets either get rejected or sent to sorting for further investigation. Rejected pallets remain on your dashboard until the supplier collects them (Uplift).

Goal:
To close the delivery event once all pallets are offloaded and checked.
Steps:
Ensure every single pallet assigned to this delivery has a completed Quality Inspection.
Click the Complete Receiving Event button at the top of the screen.
If there are any unresolved Non-conforming pallets, the system will redirect you to a page to action them (Reject or Sort) before fully closing out the process.
What Happens Next?:
The receiving event is officially closed. The stock is now active in the facility and will appear on the main dashboard and in the Stocktake module.
